POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager of our largest sawmill, the Cleaner will be primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitization of the sawmill and offices. This is a prime opportunity to get familiar with machine processes and getting involved in the maintenance department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist maintenance with machine repairs
- Clean work area for hot work to be performed, perform fire watch and monitor per fire watch guidelines
- Perform proper lockout at all times
- Monitor and maintain the appearance and cleanliness of basement, mill floor, all door entranceways, walkways
- Maintain a high level of sanitation and tidiness in all washrooms, lunchrooms, stairwells, walkways and defined offices
- Empty all garbage/recycling containers throughout the plant
- Maintain operating level of cleaning and material supplies and notify Supervisor of restocking needs
- Responsible for closing and locking up the mill from time to time
- Follow all established safety procedures
- Contribute and act effectively within the team
- Other Duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Facility maintenance and cleaning experience an asset
- Manufacturing experience as asset
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision as an effective team member
- Demonstrated ability to meet quality and efficiency expectations
- Demonstrated reliability
HOURS:
- Monday to Friday, 5-day work week
- 8-hour days
- Afternoon shift – 2:30 to 11:00 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
